The first time I said, "I'm a photographer" was to the police at 1am in Queens, kneeling in the middle of a quiet neighborhood street, holding still for a shot. I then repeated in my mind ("Holy Cow, I'm a photographer.") .  ...one of the stories we get into in this interview.

I enjoyed this conversation with guest host Alice Rhee as one of the first of opportunities to recount the steps and thoughts from the moment I found the camera on 125th street in Harlem.  It sounds odd to me as I listen and consider this unexpected life as a photographer.  I'm just glad to be on this road.
